This set was created using premAde fans... yes, you read that right. It’s a big, bad, scary word that brings a lot of controversy to our lash industry. You already know I have a lot to say on this topic and even more so after testing these from Lash Anarchist.
There’s nothing like making a beautiful fan in real time and achieving the perfect coating and attachment. It’s so satisfying and makes you feel like a million bucks, but then comes the client movement, distraction, time crunch- or simply falling out of your groove. This is where I would reach for those PROmade fans that I spent hours working on the evening before. What a lifesaver! But is it possible to save the prep time and purchase quality PREmade fans?⠀ ⠀ PREmade fans are very taboo. When I announced my intentions on making this post, one lash friend commented, “Mama mia policia! 🚨” Flashback to March 31: I’m scrolling Instagram when lash badass, Lash Anarchist, posted that she was selling PREmade fans. My initial thought, “Seriously, someone so well-respected and knowledgeable is selling these... no way. What’s this all about?” I immediately ordered a tray.⠀ ⠀
This was wild to me since I never apply 10D fans. The above photo shows the final result of one eye after 75-minutes. If you haven’t, go check it out!
⠀
✔️These fans are made by hand which raises the question: “PRE or PRO?” This is unique from a lot of what is on the market.⠀
✔️The lashes are dark and soft.⠀
❗️There are curvature inconsistencies. The longer lengths are a CC-curl whereas the shorter lengths are a tight D-curl.⠀
❗️Some bases on the shorter lengths are such a wide V that there isn’t any attachment area. Pinching the base together fixes this.⠀
❗️Some fans were created with too much adhesive causing the area to puddle when coated. I was able to make an adjustment to help, but my bases still looked chunky.⠀
〰️These fans are super wide.⠀
✔️Pickup is simple.⠀
✔️Time saving.⠀
FINAL THOUGHT: I prefer the control I have when creating my own fans along with the technical skill set that goes along with it. 💪🏼 I think it’s great to have PROmade fans ready to go for when the lash hiccups hit. I can see the convenience and practicality of these fans from Lash Anarchist when used as filler fluff in a hybrid or volume set. After all, making over 100 10D fans for an application is mentally and physically intense as well as time consuming.⠀ ⠀ These may have some kinks, but goodness- our industry is making progress! Thank you Ali for breaking barriers. 🖤
